Nov. Strawberry Classic Car Show and TIN CAN GYPZEE"S- Wellll...TCG did another great and fu filled evwening of Gypzee and ATS entertainment under the tent in Plant City. I cannot say often enough how much we enjoy this event. This time around we happily recruited from one of our audiences ( we do multiple shows) an" Honorary Sultan" ( pictured above and what a good sport...).
Nov 9th workshop w/ Lilith( Gyspy Caravan Certified Instructor) was G-R-E-A-T!! Lots of Bay Area dancers turned out to support the effort and to those we extend our happiness and our thanks. As we all know it is often a case of mutual support among local dancers to keep these "affordable workshops" offered. This weekend was no exception and it was nice to see so many familiar faces enjoying Lilith's instruction. If you didn't manage to enjoy this workshop then you missed a diamond in the rough...not to fear though, it will be repeated. Lilith taught ATS moves as well as good foundational technique to be applied to all styles of our dance. Wonderfully creative combinations and theory on how to come to own a move and make it reflect your dance. Lilith does not just teach steps and movement, she teaches the importance of being "in the moment with your audience" and little tricks of the trade to get there. This dancer had a good afternoon and came away with some solid instruction, ideas and combinations. Well worth giving up the couch and hours of football on a Sunday afternoon.
Here Ye.... hear YE! All you Drummers!- There is a new and excellent News letter in town...BAY AREA DRUMMING. serving the "extended" Tampa Bay Area. This is a wonderfully put together publication that I encourage all to support. To subscribe send a message to:
THE TIN CAN GYPZEE"S- performed and promoted at the STRAWBERRY CLASSIC CAR SHOW!Saturday August 16...This event was held primarily to promote the Plant City Planteen bellydance classes. It is our hope to continue to be a part of the Car shows, continue to have future guests dancers and drummers and... always have fun.

"Focus" Magazine Lakeland edition ( July) has a lovely article on our group of dancer's this month. Thank you to all who participated in making this a fun and interesting read.
(Better late than never)...Broadway Tin Can Gypzee's danced at the Historical Polk Theater. "We" were the only dancers representing 'American Gypsy Belly Dance. " The performance was limited to a mere 2 1/2 minutes, so we shortened the routine down by almost two minutes. It went very well and I am so proud of my GYPZEE's. Oh yes and we went ghost hunting while we were there...we have orbs...The spirits are active and housed at the Polk Theater...and some are, shall I say, mischievious.
Pirate Days ( John Levique Pirate and street Festival, Madiera Bch/John's Pass) Was an absolute Fun and Big Cannon Blast affair. to the left is the Pirate Wench "Mad Mary Flint" (teh hee, that's me MJ) carefully being studied by Trish of troupe Z. Me thinks this innocent little wench is eye ballin' me Knife...they don't call me 'Mad Mary' without reason...she'd best be careful!
